You NEED TO KNOW...Census 2020

REMEMBER: THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION.

According to the ASSOCIATED PRESS, FB is going to be censoring information about the US Census. (They called it "clamping down on 'disinformation'")

Consider the following:

There were only 2 reasons for the US Census. One was for taxation (Which was removed by the 16th amendment- income tax). The other was to count the citizens for representation. So, like 10 years, I ask the following: Why so many unnecessary questions? What does our religious affiliation have to do with it? What does our age have to do with it? Why does it matter where we lived 10 years ago? What does our income have to be given? Why the heck does it matter if we have a bathtub or not?

If you're counting the citizens, WTH do we need to give ethnic origins?

IMO, the only things needed are Whether or not you're a citizen (Or resident alien) and number of people at the location.

THAT IS IT.

Each time I see a census (And I can recall 5 of them for me), it becomes apparent that what the government is actually doing is SPYING UPON THE PEOPLE. That is prohibited by the Bill of Rights, but they're doing it anyway under the guise of a census.

I will probably never see a Census with my name in it. First chance I'd have would be in 2032.

Really, the only purpose is to COUNT... and that is IT. Although, it does help on genealogy.

Facebook confusion

A friend on Facebook posted a "Nazis suck.  Live nazis suck.  Dead Nazis suck" type of post, and said it was likely to be deleted for violation of TOS.

Actually, I think he's wrong, but we will wait to see if his prognostication comes to pass.

I said that he wasn't advocating violence (rioting), or hate groups (Nazis), nor was he advocating murder, so it didn't violate TOS (IMO).  Of course, I can't speak for FB.

Then , someone brought up the fact that NAZI means NATIONAL SOCIALIST.  (Take a look at that term.)  It's not Nationalism.  It's not Socialism. 

My statement, below, I suspect he'll remove because it disagrees with him.  But we shall see.

Honestly, I don't believe that they have removed posts that say something sucks.

If you were calling for murder, however, THAT would be removed (Or ought to be!), as it advocates violence, hatred and murder!

Arjun made a statement that many people seem to ignore -- that NAZI is short for NATIONAL SOCIALIST.

Let's look at that again. It's not Nationalism. And it's not Socialism. It when the two are combined, and and a Dose (and an unhealthy dose, at that) of more hatred is thrown in.

Socialism is the enemy of capitalism. It's not even political, it's ECONOMIC.

It's actually based on hatred-- hatred of the rich. It's also based in Covetousness. Remember? "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, or manservant, or maidservant, or anything that is thy neighbor's." People ignore that, too.

Yeshua had harsh words for bankers. He had harsh words for the rich. But he ALSO defended their right to be rich. ("Friend, I have done you no wrong. Did you not agree to work this day for a denarius? I choose to give to the last what I have given to you. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own? Or is your eye evil because I am good?" (Do you begrudge my generosity?)

It's true: Nazis do not have a place in a world which is supposed to be based in love.

You're quite right in saying "NAZIS SUCK."

But, IMO, you're not in violation of anything. You've told the truth.

Only conservatives have "Offensive" opinions, at least according to the Demonrats. (Yes, I said DEMON-RATS)

Honestly, how long before the asses at FB decide to censor me?  I don't know.  But I know that the Libtards are there...and they, like big brother, watch...

Well, I have to admit this doesn't apply to everyone on the left... But one, anyway.  Let's call her Jeanne... Just for the hell of it.

ON FB, I often have political discussions.  And they almost always result in the other side name-calling, threatening, or just saying "I'm done with you; you're a bigot."

Such idiocy needs to be called out.

She claims she's going to vote for Clinton.  I have no control over what she believes.  I don't control her vote.  I think she knows that.  But she thinks that I'm "Anti-woman" because I don't support Clinton.  I gave her my reasons.  She counter with a couple of articles which I read.  Then I went on to contradict a half-dozen points, with info of my own..  I don't have a lot of time to go back to find all the sources.  But it's somewhat apparent that she would even look at them.

She ended it, claiming "You're not on my friends list; I removed you a long time ago."
Actually, I don't recall her ever being on my friend list.

She refused to acknowledge the fact that I was molested as a child.  Expected.  She refused to acknowledge that a niece was raped (Expected)

Honestly, Jeanne... I hope you get what you want.  But name-calling is very unbecoming a lady, and it bothers me that you'd stoop to Alinsky tactics.

I pointed out that Clinton's Travel as SOS means nothing.  That's not an accomplishment, it's incidental to the job.  You refused to acknowledge Benghazi.  You don't accept the fact that Clinton's husband has a list of accusers a mile long, and possibly an illegitimate son (This one is merely rumored, so I didn't even mention it on FB)

I pointed out the fact that she accused a child of being the aggressor at a rape trial and that she lost her law license.  Of course, that is "Irrelevant."

Despite your attitude and inability to debate without name-calling, I harbor no ill will against you.
Politics is a dirty business and it ALWAYS brings out the worst in everyone.  It's hard to stay civil when people lie about everything.

I fear for our nation if Clinton is elected.  I'm not much more confident if Trump is.  Either way, we will endure 4 more years of hell.

I hope that you are correct in your belief.  But I wasn't wrong in the last 8 years under Obama.

Where is compassion?

Politics is dirty business.  You know it.  I know it.  Anyone who is involved in it knows it.

Today, Hillary started feeling overheated at the 9/11 memorial.  Despite my total disagreement with her on the issues, especially immigration and health care, I wish her a quick recovery.

But one of my old friends... I don't know what's happened to him.  I mean, I find this political rants amusing at times, and powerful at times.  But today... He went off so "half-cocked" including what could have been classified a threat.  Seriously, what he was suggesting was NOT a laughing matter, and certainly couldn't have been construed as satire.

I put a note up on FACEBOOK, regarding the situation.  I only hope he takes it the way it is meant.  If not, there isn't much I can do.

My Reply read as follows.

L-----, despite our dislike of Hillary, she, as a human, deserves some compassion.

If she is sick, she deserves prayers NOT ridicule. And your statement about a "Double dose" is cause for major concern! This is NOT Christian behavior!

And that comment COULD lead to the Secret Service showing up at your door.

I disagree with her on practically everything. Where in the New Testament does it say "Badmouth your enemies"? Politics STILL needs to be tinged with compassion. It is getting dirty and I, for one, am disgusted with it.

My wife has been in the hospital. I call for prayers not vituperation! Let's see a little compassion. You don't have to agree with Hillary, but you can at least tone down the rhetoric. I don't like seeing anyone sick... regardless of friction or disagreements that are a part of politics, compassion is what makes us Spiritual beings.

A RANT... Please understand how disgusted I am.

I spotted while surfing FB, a picture which was so thoroughly disgusting, so evil, that I cannot help but vent!

It showed a newborn...or maybe a few days old infant...In a PLASTIC GARBAGE BAG! The caption placed by the person who shared said "7 years bad luck if you scroll by. Like and share."

DOES THIS DIMWIT EVEN REALIZE WHAT THE HECK SHE SAID?

IMO, this is condoning MURDER... A BABY, mind you... in a GARBAGE BAG.
This is really sending the wrong message! 1: Supporting MURDER. 2) Calling a Child "GARBAGE." 3. Supporting the abandoning of a BABY...They tell you to "LIKE AND SHARE" such an action or wish you 7 years bad luck?!

THINK ABOUT IT... Do you find it objectionable?

If you don't, you're not human, IMO! Apes, other mammals, birds..they take care of their young!

That people do this at all REALLY bugs me. But now... Look at this from the point of view of someone who was forced to give up a child.
Then examine the POV of an adopted child.

THEN, consider ABORTION. It's exactly the same deal. Treat our children as garbage. Leave 'em in a garbage bag to die.

Thought for the day

I have, today, wanted to take the sky in my arms to comfort her. For the last week she has worn widow’s weaves, shedding them only briefly, as if for a shower...or simply to change from one set of garments to another. I have wanted to reach out, assure her that all is okay, and remove the darkness from her soul. It seems wrong, the constant gray, like clothes on a Venus di Milo, or a blanket over a flowerbed on a hot summer’s day.

The sky has wept over the week; today more than others. Is a memory of a hurt 50 years ago? Is it a wrong more recent? Or are they tears of anguish of times to come? Or are they tears of joy, for a love with whom she was reunited, or a parent whose suffering has ended?

Her tears perform tasks, however. They replenish the lakes and rivers. They give plants a drink, and allow the same plants to get food more easily. They flatten hillsides, filling holes, settling dust and dirt, washing the world. Maybe the sky merely needs to wash her garments for the next fashion show. I am incapable of comprehending the majesty and reason behind the rain.

Are we like the sky in this manner? Do our tears cleanse or our souls, wash the wounds, heal the hurt?
Have we taken someone in our arms, saying nothing, just being a comforting presence in a time of sorrow? Or have we ignored hurt and pain, like the priests of the story of the good Samaritan? Have we passed by on the other side of the road to avoid hurt and pain, keeping to ourselves, instead of offering our own assistance, even at great cost?

We cannot change what we have done in the past in such a matter. But we can learn compassion. Or we can be the vulture who feeds on the remains of hurt and misdeed. The choice is ours. The reward is eternity. We may not see it today—but if we don’t see it, does that mean it isn’t real? Or does it mean that we are simply blind, waiting for our eyes to be opened by the compassionate man who happens by? Or will we call out, only to be ignored?

No, this isn’t the law of the jungle. It is the law of love.
