Star Trek has always given me food for thought. And one quote I have found to be astonishingly thoughtful comes out of the Episode, "The Measure of a Man."
Guinan and Picard are in ten-forward, during a recess in a hearing regarding Data's Status...
Guinan: Consider that in the history of many worlds, there have always been disposable creatures. They do the dirty work. They do the work that no one else wants to do because it's too difficult or too hazardous. And an army of Datas, all disposable... You don't have to think about their welfare, you don't think about how they feel. Whole generations of disposable people.
Capt. Picard: You're talking about slavery.
Guinan: Oh, I think that's a little harsh.
Capt. Picard: I don't think that's a little harsh, I think that's the truth. But that's a truth that we have obscured behind a... comfortable, easy euphemism: 'Property'! But that's not the issue at all, is it?
Now LOOK AT THOSE WORDS: "WHOLE GENERATIONS OF DISPOSABLE PEOPLE."
And Picard's response, shortly thereafter: "That's a truth that we have obscured behind a ... comfortable, easy euphemism: 'Property.'"
Think about it, you "Pro-Choice" crowd... You are doing EXACTLY THE SAME... Hiding behind "MY BODY," "MY HEALTH," "MY CHOICE," and "ABORTION."
Call it what it is: MURDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE.
It's time for you MURDERERS to stop lying to yourselves...AS I SEE IT!
