Do you suppose they'll read this the way I intend?

I received an ad for a "Service contract" on an A/C unit.  But these folks (Who shall remain anonymous) know that we don't have a working unit.  They KNOW we were turned down for a chance at replacing it.  THEY KNOW.

I penned this very carefully worded letter.  I was very precise in my words.
DO YOU THINK THEY'LL READ THIS THE WAY I MEAN IT TO BE READ?  Or will they get it wrong?
__________________________________________________

Thank you for offering your service maintenance contract to me.

However, do you not think that it would be more practical to offer such a service
to someone who actually has a working system?

Your agent was out here some time ago, and determined that our unit was irreparable.
We were declined for financial aid, and went on to a couple of other places for the loan, and had the same result each time. Therefore, we have been unable to replace our unit at all, and remain in a very uncomfortable situation until temps come down to a more tolerable level.

Therefore, for your financial well-being and a more tolerable misery level for us,
Please remove my name from your advertising until further notice. Unless we can get a working system, that could be quite some time.

IF, however, you care to see if you can actually fix this beast of a nonworking system, you are free to call to try to arrange a time and date. Be informed that I cannot continue to shell out $100.00 per service call which lasts only 1 or 2 minutes.

While I appreciate the offer, it is prodigal for both of us at this time, and even more so for me.

So, I once again request that you remove my name from your advertising ASAP, and until further notice.

Thank you.

Life as we know it... Sadly!

I am seriously worried about the Millennials! As general rules:
They are lazy, Stupid, easily-controlled puppets. They cannot think for themselves; they never learned how to think. It's amazing: They don't know how to read or write in script. They cannot do simple math. They claim to be concerned about pollution, but leave Trash everywhere and don't know how to clean up after themselves. They worry about "Climate Change" but know nothing of the mechanics of the climate (or the universe, for that matter.) They refuse to accept personal responsibility, always blaming someone else! They claim to be against violence, but bully their classmates until their classmates snap and go on shooting sprees. They can't (or won't) acknowledge their own parts in this, and push to ban guns.
In February, they are eating Tide pods (Despite the warnings on the boxes-- but they apparently don't know how to read), the next month they claim to be experts in the Constitution (despite the fact that they can't read!), and now they're snorting condoms. Seriously, the generation is more stupid than any generation I've seen.
The Greatest Generation is nearly gone - in most cases, they had values, morals, intelligence; they recognized the existence of Heaven and Hell.
They eschewed evil (for the most part), knew how to put aside differences. Baby boomers began to lose some of these things and didn't pass down the morals and values. And this is the result: 30-40 years later, we have a generation of ignorant, lazy bums, in many cases on welfare, who don't know how to see danger, or how to stop evil. We have a nanny-state, and we're on the edge of disaster because of it. The generation prefers being slaves to the government rather than Freedom!
The Millennials are committing suicide by stupidity. It may be too late for them. We in the older generations MUST STEP UP. We need to relearn the values and skills that have been lost. Otherwise, we are doomed. This is worrisome-- AS I SEE IT!

Politically incorrect city name under fire.

n an age where Truth gets the back seat to political correctness, in an age when hiring the most qualified individual leads to charges of discrimination, in an age when simple disagreement gives way to shouts of "RACISM!", and in an age when truth is called "hate speech," we need to reexamine some facts.

NOTE: Washington Redskins football is being hassled and bullied into changing their name: So far, they have resisted.

NOW, A Minnesota city, The largest city in Anoka County, is under fire for its name. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson both plan bringing bus loads of people from all over the nation to protest and petition this city into changing its name.

Al Sharpton has equated the name with slavery and bigotry. Jesse Jackson has called it a "slur of the worst type," and is demanding that the city pay reparations.

Is there no end to the outlandish stupidity of these absurd folks who play the race card at every turn?
The citizens and government of what was once known as Coon Creek Rapids tend to agree. Since the incorporation of the city in 1952, it has become a prosperous place, a strapping city of over 61000.

My advice to COON RAPIDS, MN, and Washington Redskins: Giving in is a sign of cowardice. STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE!

(Note: This was written as a satire on the "Politically Correct" movement. As of this time, I know of no challenge to the city name...but I do suspect that such a challenge MAY be in the offing. Stand Firm!)

"Extreme Couponing" -- Extreme BULLSHIT!

I don't know how many of you use coupons.  I don't  I find that, often, they attach strings that make no sense.  "Double Coupons" are crap... I find the whole thing just a load of BS.

I've watching the show... they got 889 bucks of stuff for about 10 bucks... or they get cash back... or they don't pay a thing... Yeah, RIGHT.  Uh huh.  That's as believable as a huge fat man squeezing himself down millions of chimineys one night a year!

I challenge ANY COUPONER... ANY ONE OF YOU... to come to my area and prove it.  Of course you won't.

Cases in point:  Stores don't always double, or they may double up to 50 cents.  There are several stores near my area that don't accept internet coupons...and they state on the door that "If coupons result in a negative balance, we will not return extra."

They attach strings:  You must buy 3 boxes of this at $4.00 each in order to get .50 on 6 of that, and you must consume 16 ounces of something else at 4.65 before you cand get your .50, but you must include a copy of your receipt, send certified mail to a PO Box somewhere in Timbuktu before a certain time period has passed, and then they can still reject it for any reason.... HUH?!

For instance, I saw a coupon today that gives $1.00 off on 3 boxes of  a well-known maker's types of cereal.  They must be at least 15 OZ or more... OK, I find 3 boxes of that runs 3.50 each.  The coupon doesn't double.  The product isn't on sale anywhere, I've checked.

So, three boxes of this stuff = $10.50.  Your cost:  9.50.

Now, I see a Generic available.  Same stuff.  $2.00 a box.  3 Boxes, total 6 bucks.

So, to "SAVE" a buck, you spend 3.50 MORE?  I don't think so!

They give you a coupon for a laundry soap:  2.50 off.  Great.  That doesn't double.  Not at that price!
Size, 64 ounces.  OK.  On sale, too, a buck less.  Nice.  BUT THE "SALE PRICE" is still 12.99.  So, your cost is 10.49.  AH, there's a different brand, actually larger in size -- At $7.49.  So, 80 oz. at 7.49 or 64 ounces at 10.49.  What's the better deal?

AH, here's something that is a freebie.  But the coupon has a condition:  you must be 3-12 packs of something that you don't use, and they cost 6.00 a 12-pak.  The item is 3.50.  Do you spend 18 bucks on items you don't use and will likely toss, just to get 3.50 worth of something?  Penny-wise, pound foolish!

Save .99 cents on a chocholate milk.  Doubles.  but the brand retails for 4.50!  So, you got 2.52 to spend... but another brand runs 2.99 for the same stuff.  Brand names mean nothing!  Sure, you can save a little...but this store doesn't have the brand you want.  Nearest store that has it is 10 miles away.  So, waste 2/3 of a gallon of gas to save .40?  You wind up losing 1.60,  Brilliant!

Coupons are just fraudulent enticement to get you to buy...at inflated prices.  Don't give me the "Free" stuff...it doesn't exist.  And, you couponers...If you THINK you can do it here, in Florida, in my area... I DARE YOU TO TRY.  You'll find you're definitely a loser in your thinking...and your money has gone to gas rather than groceries... in effort to save .03, you spend .50.  It's THIS type of thinking that the government  does.  You see the results every day.

Ban coupons.  Get the prices down to where we can AFFORD THEM... That's what needs to be done...AS I SEE IT!

NEW LEVELS of STUPIDITY!

Just when you think the level of stupidity has bottomed out, someone decides to take it down to another level.  I tell you, sometimes I wonder if there is a limit to stupidity!

Today is in my scope, and the target is CENTURYLINK...yeah, I do business with 'em.  I don't mean the phone company section, but the internet section of the company, ok?

For a number of hours, I was getting my Email from the addresses connected with Centurylink.  But one of the addresses was not getting mail -- in fact, it was giving an error, #500, internal server error.  This continued for several hours. Finally I decided to use the chat function to find out what was going on.  I would have called, but my caption phone is on the fritz again, and can't be replaced until the new phone arrives.

I give my name, and wait a very short time (Excellent speed, this morning, a Plus!).  I told them the problem, that one Email was giving me an error, and I was informing them of it.
They needed my phone number (Although it was already given when I went into chat) to check things out.
The bill is in my wife's name, not mine...but it's my Email account.

The guy comes back on, "I'm sorry, but you aren't associated with the account, So I'll need to talk with the account owner."

EXCUSE ME?!  What information did I request that needed my wife's authorization?  I'm informing them of an ERROR... a server error -- on their side!

Do you know how hard it is to type when you are angry?  For me, I am trembling and I can barely see straight after that comment.

I CUT LOOSE ...  And this is a QUOTED TEXT from me:  "BULL SHIT!  THAT IS IMMATERIAL and you KNOW IT!  I'm informing you of an error on your side!"

a brief pause -- "I'm sorry, the Email is undergoing maintence, please try later."

GOOD G**!  Why couldn't they have just said that in the first place?  Was it REALLY NEEDED to speak with my wife on that?  NO, it wasn't!  It struck me as ODD, however, that I could SEND through the account, receive a different one...but the account wouldn't receive.

Just a couple minutes ago -- I tested.  It worked.  Problem solved.

BUT WHY the hassle?  Why couldn't they have just said "Some accounts are undergoing maintenence?"  Was it THAT HARD to do?

Is this GOVERNMENT STUPIDITY?  Or is this COMPANY STUPIDITY?  Or is it INDIVIDUAL stupidity?

I'm afraid that is a question (or 3 questions) for which I have no information.  But I know THIS -- It shows that the "DUMBING DOWN" of America is alive and well...even if I am not able to locate the source of the problem, nor the ignoramus who is behind it.

BTW:  BLOGSPOT?  I don't like this new format.  I can't add my tags any more.  I can't use CHROME.  I don't like what you've done.  Only reason I plan to stay is that you are FREE.

KICKING A** in Florida....against Stupidity!   I'm starting a group... PASP.  (People against Stupid People).  Care to join me?

January canary awards!

Yep, it's February. My house was stolen right out from under me, my wife suffered a heart attack, we're having another cold snap, and I'm as frustrated as a a lying bastard spouting globabble.

Today being 2-1, that means it is time for your favorite and mine THE CANARY AWARDS!

I've explained it more than once... the CANARY is THE AWARD...for people whom you want to give the bird! It could be a politician, a cop, a neighbor, a sports team... it makes NO DIFFERENCE.

I had 6 nominees this last month. I had to sort out the worst of the worst to determine who was getting the BIRD.

So, let's give this dubious distinction this month -- to those to whom I REALLY want to give the bird!

Bronze canary -- the third place finish... goes to my local bank. They denied me a loan, citing a foreclosure that had not yet taken place. Thing is, it was only a SMALL one. They would have had it back in 2 days. They refused, instead stealing 60 from my account. Well, they won't be having my business much longer...

The Silver Canary -- For Folding above and beyond the call of duty, and playing "Give away"...Goes to everyone's favorite loser: The Minnesota Vikings. They kept giving the ball away to N.O., so it's no wonder they lost It just goes to show that, when the going gets tough, the Vikings fold. I guess that's why they plan on changing their name to the Folders next yet. They thought about the Minnesota Tampons -- but they decided it was too "Girlish".

And The GOLD CANARY-- the people that I most want to give THE BIRD...Is there any doubt at all? Nope. It's the Folks at HSBC...in their HP division. When my wife had a heart attack, I contacted them via Email, asking them to note her account. They refused, claiming "We can only give information to the account holder." That's all fine, but THE DAMNED BASTARDS ARE TOO STUPID TO REALIZE THAT I WASN'T ASKING FOR INFORMATION.

I tried to tell them THAT, they sent the same "canned" response. 5 times in all... the F***ing bastards want a signed letter from her. I asked them "HOW CAN I GIVE YOU THAT IF SHE'S IN A COMA?" What do they say? "We're sorry, but we can only discuss details with the account holder." BUT I WASN'T ASKING FOR DETAILS!

Stupid idiots. They, once again, get the BIRD!

February is a short month...but I'm sure there's going to be some action on the board this month.

YEP, That's the truth -- AS I SEE IT!

I'm open for a new award name!

Today's number is 27250. Or 382251 if you want to go to extremes.

I've been watching a lot of TV recently. More than I would have expected 5 months ago. And I'm extremely surprised at the situation. I'm seeing commercials that are so stupid it's hard to classify them as anything but nonsense.

I'm sure you've seen the Geico Gecko, right? It's as bad as the Caveman...worse when you consider their stupidity.

There's one for JC Penney. Yes, but it IS their commericial, and I simply MUST comment. They're showing back to school stuff, and a tight schedule. But they are STUPID. Why? Well, they show a band concert scheduled at 7:30. But unless you're an ensemble, or a rock band, this simply doesn't wash. BAND PRACTICE... BIG CONCERT. The student is very busy practicing her violin. I'm sure she's getting it down. What's the problem? VIOLINS ARE NOT PART OF A BAND. They are part of an orchestra. Is JC PENNEY so stupid as to think I don't know the difference?

But this leads me to the new award. I need a title of some sort. I'm thinking of the golden toilet. Let me see if you can give me any ideas for better names, but you need to know the whole story.

I walked out to the mailbox today. Mail seldom brings any good news, today was no real exception, except for the stupidity I found in the mailbox. I received a check. Oh, is that all, you're asking? Well -- if you saw the amount, you'd see the Golden Toilet award.

This check came from Merrill-Lynch, the new AIG when it comes to waste. Or is it the new Obama administration? ::sigh::

How much does it cost to print a check? probably a few cents for ink, 10 cents for the check? Maybe? The envelope is maybe 25-30 cents. Postage is .44. And then there's the time spent to process, PLUS the gas to take the check to the bank, plus the processing time at the bank, phone calls...

Yeah, there are 5 senses. And there is one senseless. This Astonishing check couldn't buy a gallon of gas. It couldn't by a gumball.

Paging Mr. Bill Gates! Or Mr. Luke Sidewalker? What do you do with a check for 6 cents?

It's definitely time for the golden toilet award...and believe me, what they wasted to send this check wasn't worth what they spent.

SIX CENTS. STUPIDITY AND WASTE AT ITS WORST... As I see it!
