BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC(ANS)
Songs get parodied. No two ways about it.
You may remember this one -- in school it included the line "Teacher hit me with a ruler."
Well, I've taken the liberty and the opportunity to update this from
"The Battle Hymn of the Republic" to "The Battle Hymn of the Republicans."
Mine eyes have seen the folly of the stupid Democrats.
"Politically correct" -- They are banning this and that.
They have hatred of all statues
And they dislike MAGA hats.
Their Folly marches on!
Dum-dee-dum-dee-Dum-dee Dum dum!
Elect them, say goodbye to freedom!
Dum-dee-dum-dee-Dum-dee Dum dum!
Their folly marches on!
Indoctrination is now the Golden Rule.
They've taken God and Prayer out of all the public schools.
If you think for yourself
you're now a racist fool.
Their folly marches on!
Dum-dee-dum-dee-Dum-dee Dum dum!
Elect them, say goodbye to freedom!
Dum-dee-dum-dee-Dum-dee Dum dum!
Their folly marches on!
Give the right to vote to felons, illegals and the dead.
Give reparations to those who are now centuries dead!
I'll say it loud and and clear, and
YES, IT MUST BE SAID..
THEIR FOLLY MARCHES ON!
Dum-dee-dum-dee-Dum-dee Dum dum!
Elect them, say goodbye to freedom!
Dum-dee-dum-dee-Dum-dee Dum dum!
Their folly marches on!
Now we fast approach a new election night!
Be sure that you inform yourself and remember to vote right!
Informed voters can set these fools to flight!
Their folly won't march on!
Dum-dee-dum-dee-Dum-dee Dum dum!
Elect them, say goodbye to freedom!
Dum-dee-dum-dee-Dum-dee Dum dum!
Their folly marches on!

On the Government shutdown
On the 22nd of December, 2018, the Government began a partial shutdown.
Today is the 10th of January, 2019.
Phones go unanswered. Construction is delayed. TSA lines are long and slow.
But seriously... does ANYONE, other than Government employees, see anything DIFFERENT?
I'm not. Those who are just moving into Social Security might be. Medicare? They're always slow.
FBI? Still working. Army? Going without pay, I gather.
What began as a massive game of Chicken is now a staring contest. Who blinks first?
Trump isn't caving. He wants 5 BILLION for the Wall. The Democrats STILL won't give it to him.
Congress is getting paid. Trump hasn't been accepting a salary, as such, donating everything to various causes.
The gridlock continues. Trump is about to go into the record books as the President with the longest shutdown.
There can be no compromises when neither side will budge.
Would this happen if Congress wasn't getting paid? Probably not.
I've been looking at various scenarios as to how both side can escape unscathed, neither winning, nor losing. There are none.
So, what are the other scenarios?
1) Trump caves. Take it on the chin, you lose. The Wall was the Primary Promise. If he can't get the Democrats to fund even the slightest border security, we're in trouble.
2) The Democrats cave. They've got nothing to lose, here. They can continue to hold their breath for as long as the shut can go on.
3.) Congress caves. They pass a bill to fund the govt, except the wall. Trump Vetoes. Congress overrides. Democrats would need 70 more votes from the House to get that 2/3 level. And they'd need 23 GOP Senators, if my figures are right.
4) Impeachment happens. The Senate, however, needs to try, and the possibility of removal is less than 10%, IMO.
5) The People revolt against the DFL. They demand things be reopened.
6) The people revolt against the GOP. Ditto comment above.
7) The People revolt against everyone. Total civil war. Death, Destruction, Pestilence.
8) Martial law is declared. odds: 7-3 against. But worrisome.
9) Total Economic collapse. Major trouble for everyone.
I can't see a win for either side. I CAN see an invasion happening. Might be Russia, China, North Korea, Mexico or Canada. Not France, not England.
Trump wants the Wall. Democrats want murder (Abortion), free stuff (Socialism), open borders (invasion) and Gun Confiscation.
2 years is a long time to be shut down.
Is there any hope, at all? We're in a tempest, the winds whip about, shit flies like debris in a tornado or hurricane.
What will it take? I don't care to speculate on that.
Whatever happens will have long term consequences on the US. And the world.
There are 2 -- likeliest -- scenarios. One, I may not bandy about in public.
The other-- total collapse unless someone caves.
BUT... Isn't everything still running? "Non-essential" is curtailed. But for how long?
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
At this rate, 2021... without anything to let the government and the Republic, survive.
Worrisome? Well... People have been wanting anarchy. It's on the way...
AS I SEE IT.

Election review -- Belly-aching Bastards!
The Election, Thankfully, is over. I'm not pleased with the results, but such is life.
But I am ANNOYED. I am a GOP member, and I am annoyed at my own party! WHY?
Because, they are proving themselves poor sports, sore losers! I'm tired of the stupidity they are spouting, despite how much they are doing.
They're claiming "voter fraud." -- that Romney actually won the race. While there were a lot of close states, NOT A SINGLE one was close enough to be decided by "fraud." Sure, there were some questionable tactics in Florida, especially St. Lucie county. Some people stood in line for HOURS on Election day. WHY couldn't they have gone earlier? I did.
But the GOP, sore losers, are crying "Fraud!" More than 3 MILLION votes separated Obama and Romney. That comes to more than 60,000 votes "Fraud" per state. OH, GIMME A BREAK, BABIES!
Florida is a prime example of their stupidity! They're claiming that "141%" turnout occurred in St. Lucie County, and some precincts had more than 150%. But when you look at the figures, that is an outright lie. They're claiming "turnout" in St. Lucie was 249K voters. But if you look at the total votes cast, it was only 125K voting out of 175K registered voters. That's actually 70%, give or take .7 percent. The problem occurred because of TWO PAGE BALLOT. Each page counted as one "CARD", and the assholes are staring at that figure, figuring "FRAUD."
They're claiming over 100% in some Colorado counties. I do not know if Colorado has Election-day registration like MN does. But if they do, that could explain small discrepancies. But I'm guessing that None of these places had over 100% turnout.
ONE PERSON in FL, claims she lives in a county that went "100% Obama," while she herself voted for Romney. My own examination of that is proved 100% BULLSHIT! There were only a half dozen counties that voted Obama.and NONE of those were 100%. So, she's spreading shit, in hopes that something nice will grow.
They've ignored the real issues on the DFL side, screaming "RACIST" whenever someone disagrees. But the poor sportsmanship of the People of the GOP is not even laughable: It's PATHETIC.
The GOP must now dedicate themselves to the task at hand -- stopping the growing debt, protecting people from increasing taxes, stopping Obamacare, stopping the global gun ban, stopping Sharia law, eliminating our dependence on foreign oil. They must stop the left from taking over the Court.
GOP--As a member of your party, I'm disgusted with your members. But I'm not turning my back on 'em. I'm telling you, you've got to GROW UP! GET WITH THE PROGRAM.
Stop spinning the lies...or if you can't, you must learn to make them more believable than the DFL's lies. BOTH SIDES are guilty of lying to the people. When you stand before the Great Judge, will you be able to say, as if you are under oath, "We did nothing wrong"?
GROW UP, FOR GOD'S SAKE! ALL of you! You're supposed to be serving the people. Instead, like Emperor Palpatine of Star Wars, you've been corrupted by Power.
I want to put a name in for you for 2016 -- but it's a bit early, and I want to discuss the specifics with the man, first. He's a dedicated public servant. And believe me, THAT is what we need -- Not a narcissistic ass with an eye to his own power and golf game!
THAT is what we need -- the end of the belly-aching, and behaving like true sportsmen. If you can't do that, you're as bad as the politicians! And THAT IS THE FACT....AS I SEE IT!

seems like only yesterday
But it was nearly 4 years ago when I was writing on politics, in particular DFL -- The Hillary-Barack battle. Now, we are rapidly (THANK GOODNESS) approaching the end of Obama's first (And many people hope only) term. There are no challengers to him on his side.At least, none that we can see. He's unopposed by any DFL member.
4 years ago, it was a battle on GOP -- McCain, Romney, Huckabee...and I was preparing for the MN caucus. I missed it: I was battling influenza A. But I had done my research. I was not going to do more than a "token" vote ; the straw poll isn't binding.
4 years, and 1500 miles away, this year I prepare for my first PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY. It's on Tuesday, January 31st, here in Florida. Unless I wind up in the hospital or something extreme happens, I will be casting my first vote in Florida.
I've been watching. There's little civility, if any. It's enough to turn me off. But I know: It's my duty to get out there. This isn't a general election. It's little more than a "beauty contest.," But I've tried to follow the candidates. I was a T-Paw fan. Then he dropped. Bachmann fell by the wayside. Cain was forced out. Huntsman Shuffled aside. The candidates dwindled. I found myself with a choices that were not acceptable. Except one.
I know of "Romneycare"...And I find it nothing more than a mirror image of Obama-care, and NEITHER is any good. Obama's is worse, because of the "extra taxes" that are being forced on to us, the consumer.
PAUL -- Too much of "Maverick" for me. His anti-Israel views hurt him. and it's gonna see a "Drop" soon. Maybe as soon as Tuesday.
Gingrich -- Well, I have a few words about his infidelity. If it comes down to him vs. Oblamebushforya, I still won't support "O". But I'm not sure I can support "G", either. Sure, I like Newt's vision of a moon base. But I don't see how I can support a guy who's been married 3 times. I had a hard enough time justifying 2 with McCain.
That leaves Santorum. A little of an unknown to me, but at least some of our views match. I can say that about ALL the GOP candidates, though. "Some" of our views match.
We need JOBS, not job killing (See Solyndra, Keystone pipeline), We need spending cuts before increasing taxes. We need a balanced budget, and a budget from the Senate. We're getting NONE of this from "O".
Florida is a "Winner take all" state, I understand. But I don't trust the polls. And I can't see any way that Gingrich and Romney would pair up, nor Romney and Santorum...CERTAINLY not Paul!
While Florida may be a "Winner take all" state, there's a problem: They won't get full delegate support. Neither will NH, nor SC. Rules and bylaws of the party give us pause. But even if any one candidate slips by (By even 1 vote), Florida is done... and the winner may just grab the coveted nomination.
Whoever the Republicans finally choose -- there will still be a division in the party. At least, for a little while.
So far: Romney won NH. Santorum succeeded in Iowa. Gingrich got the nod in South Carolina. While Florida won't determine the final outcome (Bet on California), expect whosoever comes in 4th to drop. If it's Paul, you might expect a "3rd party" showing up. Some would say the show's already over. Some would say it's just beginning. But, As I see it, The show isn't over, nor is it beginning. It's not a "SHOW" at all. It's a circus. It's an asylum. And it's got to be solved before, and I mean LONG before JUNE...since the convention is in August. We need to put aside our petty squabbles...and focus on the task at hand: Removing an incompetent President (Or a usurper?). If we don't make peace amongst ourselves, we get what we deserve. It's a Frightening thought.
Yes, just think of what 4 more years of Obama is likely to do. If that doesn't frighten you, you're a bit of a fool: AS I SEE IT!
