Global Warming activists are going to have a cow...

If you were around in the late 60s, you'll remember the "Climate Scare" of the 70s.  "Global Cooling" was the buzzword -- It was the "Globabble" of the 70s.  The world, the alarmists were saying, was getting colder and we were heading towards extinction, mass starvation, or whatnot.  Walter Cronkite bought into it.  Time magazine did.  Newsweek.  Barry Commoner, a "Professor" of whatever university he was at bought into it.  This moron actually ran for President in 1980, and he was not eligible then.  He was on the Socialist ticket, of course.

Imagine -- we were to be covered in ice by the year 2000!!

The 70s passed.  We had a few warmer than average winters in a row.  Cooling alarmists were befuddled, bothered and bewildered.  Somebody else stuck out a theory that we were actually warming.  And sure enough, the lemmings and Climate Alarmists bought into the nonsense.  This became the mass "Global Warming" movement we see today.  Yet, despite some loss of ice at the north pole, the south pole has actually gained ice, and even if the alleged 60 degree mark of this last few months were accurate, flukes can and do occur!

Now, the "Globabble" crowd has changed their moniker to "Climate Change."  This is about as all encompassing as one can get.

This morning -- An article strikes my eye.  It says there is a "Mini Ice-age" on the way by 2030.

OMG... Somebody tell Al Gore!

So, it is true:  The more things change, the more they stay the same.  The "Global Warming" crowd now is going to have to switch again!  We're back to cooling...  These MORONS don't know anything, and they know even less about climate!

We've come full circle.  If we do actually enter another Ice Age, I probably won't see very much of it.  I'll be 70+ when it arrives...IF it arrives.

The clocks continue to tick.  And the Morons continue to speak out about that of which they know nothing.

Way to go libs...  Any ice age will force people back to meat...  Poor babies.

The above "snapshot" of the weather in St. Paul, MN, was taken at about 9:30 AM on April 20, 2011..  Note the temp!  Average "Low" is 43 for this time of year, with an average high of slightly over 60.

Predicted high today, the same as the average low.  low today?  Well, it's below 34 degrees.

You "Global Warming" activists -- it's time for you to get your head out of your ass and see the truth!  You're saying that the colder winters are caused by "warming."  You say that lower temps are caused by "warming."  You claim the droughts (which have been occurring since time began) are caused by "warming."  Hell, you say that your aunt Sophia's hair dryer gave out because of "global warming."

AL GORE -- who is constantly pushing this fraudulent gospel of globabble -- has absolutely no idea what is going on.  He'll twist words, and blame everything from Sunspots to meteorites on "Global warming."

Like the so-called animal rights activists and vegan who are out to abolish all meat, he ignores the obvious.
The animal rights activists/vegans also seem to be blind to facts.  They want to bring down the CO2 in the atmosphere, but they are eating the PLANTS which use it!  If you get the animals, the oxygen isn't used up so much.  The more animals there are, the more CO2 is emitted.  The more CO2, the more plants are needed.

When you disturb the balance, sure, there will be consequences.  But to intentionally disturb the balance for the sake of "restoring the balance" is in itself criminal.

AL -- Where's your HOT AIR in MN?  HMMM?  Haven't you realized that spreading fraudulent gospel is a sin?  I guess not -- 'cuz you're still doing it.

So, how do you explain THIS, Al?

Over the last 3 days there have been some terrible blizzards in the NE.  32" of snow in Maine, airports at LaGuardia and JFK closed.  Teterboro airport closed.  Hundreds trapped on a ski-lift in Maine and injuries reported.

 

Snow in GA, Jacksonville FL, extra cold in Russia, temps below 0 in Britain, and sub-freezing temps as far south as the Florida Keys.  Record lows shattered in Florida, Low temp records set earlier this month in MN.

 

These cold spells, long as they are sometimes, are even worse when the areas like Daytona, and the Florida keys aren't supposed to experience them.

 

This kind of weather (And some half-wits claim this is only local) makes you wonder how 1/2 of the world can be experiencing such misery.  And it's been going on for 3 years, 4 in some areas. 

 

The "Globabble" activists were saying that hurricanes would be increasing because the ocean temps were increasing.  Now they claim the opposite; that there will be fewer of them.

 

3 years.  4 years of more cold than most people experience in a lifetime (Except in Alaska or Siberia).  Temps plummet below zero, setting record lows, causing crop damage for oranges, grapefruit, lemons...hurting crops in CA, FL, and TX.

 

The "Global Warming" activists are blaming "WARMING" for the increasing cold.

 

EXCUSE ME?!  It's LACK of warming that cools things down, you moronic jerks!  Are you going to try to blame "Warming" and "Man-made CO2" for the increasing COLD?!

 

Al Gore and his "god" Soros are still spouting nonsense, and they still think that they can hide the truth.  Sorry buds, but the truth is seen;  You jackasses are LYING.  Every time your lips move, you're lying!  Every word you put on paper is fiction!

 

Now, Al -- have you been sitting on the JFK airport tarmac for the last 7 hours?  No, you're sitting at home burning fossil fuels to a larger extent than most people do! 

 

If the figures don't bear you out, lie.  But when the WEATHER doesn't bear you out, blame warming, blame Bush, blame big business.  Yep, yep, yep... What a crock of S**T!

 

It DOES puzzle me, Al-baby -- how can you blame "MAN-MADE" CO2 for warming when it's getting colder, how can you blame it for a naturally occurring gas -- and an element from which ALL life on the world is made?  And since Matter cannot be created or destroyed, how do we get all that extra carbon?

 

ONCE AGAIN, Al-baby -- you're spouting nonsense.  Come up to MN, stick your tongue on a flag pole.  When you can't get it off, you'll make more sense than you do when you're spouting your GLOBABBLE.

 

The EVIDENCE and the OBSERVABLE PHENOMENON beat jumbled figures every time!  That's the TRUTH...And you're STILL SPOUTING NONSENSE -- AS I SEE IT! 

 

Ranting on and on about the non-existent

I'm sure everyone has heard the joke that states, "I've made up my mind; don't confuse me with facts." I know a few people like that. I'm sure you do, as well. They are the "Birthers", the "Truthers", the "doomsayers", the "UFO conspiracy" folks. They are the ones who refuse to look at what's REALLY happening, the ones who won't (or can't) devour data. Quacks don't really fall into this category. But they prey on those who do.

However, my thoughts focus on only one particular aspect of these people (I'll save the quacks for another time-- the quacks and the fools who follow them).

I could call this "The Global Warming Hoax, Part II," and it would accurate enough.

I still hear the siren's call--"We're warming up. The glaciers are melting. It's all Man's fault, and we're doomed! We need action now." FORTUNATELY, I'm lashed to the mast of reality.

Last winter in Minnesota, we had some cold days. -34, -30, -27... The cold started in November, and didn't let up. We usually have a "January thaw." This means temps above freezing, maybe as high as 40. This is usually followed by a cooling off period, which gradually vanishes as the end of February arrives. I know of one exception: 1982. It was a year in which nearly no below zero temps were recorded in my area. Where were the "Globabblist" people? They didn't exist. The theory that indicated a "Warming" hadn't yet been advanced. But it's amazing how many have bought into that theory.

They've been babbling on and on about the glaciers, about the Polar Bear, about the "Greenhouse gases" and Ozone...Strangely, Ozone (O3) is classified a pollutant near the surface, but essential in the upper atmosphere. I've never been able to understand why a difference of 10 miles can make such a difference. I'm not doubting that there is one, but it seems strange.

What puzzles me so much is how the idiots can claim "Global Warming" when over the last two years in the Northern Hemisphere have been BELOW AVERAGE temps, as a whole. You see all the stuff on blogs, but nobody EVER points to the scientific evidence...

So far, they've been yelling about the warming this winter. In Minnesota, we've not yet had a low above 0 in my area. We've had nearly a month below freezing. All temps have been at least a couple of degrees below average. In the last 3 weeks, we've had 10 days of temps below -20.

Temps in Death Valley have been lows in the 30s, and it's plummeted to temps in the teens in Florida, 20s in southern Florida (Including Tampa and Miami), and Key West hasn't been anywhere near normal. Dallas has had temps colder than most people in those parts ever experience.

"THEY" say it's a "Blip." Two weeks is a blip. 3 weeks is crazy. 2 years of colder than average around here is unbelievable. Last winter was cold. This winter has been "Not as cold", but been cold LONGER. I don't see a "thaw" this year, either.

Last year, the ice on the lakes was a couple of weeks BEHIND SCHEDULE in vanishing. Some lakes might not have made it to ice-free when the Fishing Opener hit. That was mid-May.

"They" say it's "Local." Minnesota alone is Local. Or Illinois. Not the entire country. And if "they" say it's because the US is small, CHINA had coldest temps in 40 years, most snow in 50. NORWAY hit a -42. Beijing had 3, Russia wasn't warm.

I had to be fair, examine the Southern hemisphere as well. Temps in the 40s and 50s for lows in South Africa (Highs in the low 70s) Along the Equator, in Quito (Ecuador), temps not much more than 65 (One day I saw it was 77). Sydney has fluctuated between 48 and 80. One time I check Santiago, Chile, got 81. Ok, but it IS summer there, right?

I checked temps in Rio, Brasilia, and Kenya. Some of those "Highs" were barely mid 60s. One day, there was and 80+ reading in Brasilia, and and high 70s in Rio.

I checked the reports from Vostok. Summer there, altitude is a bit high, so I took that into account. the HIGHS are still below 0. How can ice melt if the temp is below freezing, and there is no precip of any kind? The info was showing highs of not better than -9 (predicted) with lows in the -40, -50 range, excluding windchill.

Back to the north, we had record lows for almost a week in August in my area. We had SNOW in Late September, and enough to measure in Early October.

They STILL scream "Warming." I scream "Liar!"

Stop trying to fill us with bull shit. LOOK AT THE FACTS. Look at the conditions that are dominating the globe in the North, and haven't had a lack of effect in the south.

Globabble, yes. "Global Warming"? Well, I've not seen it here. Don't tell me it's because it's local. The Equator to the Pole in the North, plus colder temps in the south -- tells me that you are full of it.

That's the meat of the matter on "Global Warming" -- AS I SEE IT.

Chevy Volt: Practical or Prodigal? Miracle, or red herring?

Today's number (for those of you who are in on the count-down) is 34250. Or 399251. If you like, you can use 5250, but nobody has figured things out Yet, so what's the point?

I've been doing some reading on the Chevy Volt. For those of you not in the know, it's a new type of car scheduled to hit the market in 2010. It has
Been given a preliminary figure of 230 mpg. That's NOT an error. TWO
HUNDRED -THIRTY MILES PER GALLON. It is being touted as the answer to clunkers, an incredible achievement of the transportation industry.

Uh-huh.

The Volt is an electric car. Similar to a hybrid in function, the primary
Source of power is electric, not gas. A hybrid functions on gas first,
Battery second.

230 MPG. If you travel 10,000 miles per year, with gas at 2.50 a gallon,
And 30 mpg on your car, you spend about 850 a year on gas. For a VOLT, it would be about 109.00 a year. Now, let's say you drive enough to need to charge the battery daily. This has been estimated to be 8 hours/day, and would cost about .40 a day. (Remember, this is what I've been reading) So, add another 146.00 per year. So, total, just for "Fuel costs" for a year is 255.00. That's a savings of 595 per year "fuel" costs.

Ok, but that's the Little Picture. The volt's preliminary base sticker
Price, bare-bones, is 40,000. If you have 7% sales tax, and put that as
Your down payment, and borrow the 40,000, you are paying the loan back in 5 years -- 800 approx. per month. So, you save about 22 days of payments per year. In 5 years, You've saved enough to make slightly less than 4 months of car payments.

What's the rest? Well, you get to use the vehicle for about 40 miles before
The battery runs low. Don't get caught in traffic! If the battery goes low
The alternate engine kicks in. That huge lithium battery becomes
Dead-weight. Oh, the gas engine will get you where you are going ok. But
Don't expect great speed, or powerful pulling. This vehicle might get you
50 MPG. But you will have to recharge soon. That kind of lets out longer
trips, doesn't it? What if your job is 50 miles away? Or if it's 30? Don't
expect miracles.

A "VOLT" will pay for itself in fuel costs savings in about 74 years.That
Assumes that all prices remain stable. If you don't travel more than 40
Miles a day, it MIGHT be worth it. But what happens when that battery wears out? How much is a replacement? A few grand? Battery for a large
fork-truck runs about 3000 pounds, and about 4 grand. Don't try this at
home, people. You'll probably need a heated garage, too. Extremes of temps wreak havoc with batteries.

Conclusion? The Chevy "Volt" would better be called the GM Joke.
We've been lead through the deserts of hope, and we've discovered a mirage.

The Volt doesn't have to be Practical AND Cheap. But if it's not practical,
it's just another colossal blunder. It's just another delusion of a mind
Numbed by cold in this period of "Global Warming."

If they prove wrong (And I have no doubt that they will), I will gloat. If they prove right, I'll be happy to chow down on crow. But a meal of crow won't be so bad as compared to what GM will face when the music is turned on -- AS I SEE IT.

I IMMEDIATELY coined a new phrase: GLOBABBLE WARMING.

Globbable Warming (N)- the nonsense of Global Warming as spouted when it's -27 and the guy's teeth are chattering.

REMEMBER THE PHRASE. USE IT IF YOU LIKE. But remember, credit to me, ok? Thanks. :))

The Cap and Trade act...tax...whatever

Well, the "Stimulus" secret is out. It's a 6000 a year rise in your energy bills. No, it won't occur all at once, but it WILL occur if we don't stop the "CRAP AND TAX" act. How do we stop it? Write your Senators NOW. ESPECIALLY if they're up for Re-election. UNFORTUNATELY, my state has only one Senator, a DFLer who more than likely supports the tax increase. I have NOT verified that yet, but it seems to be a given.

8 Republicans, Including Mary Bono Mack of California, voted for this freaking tax rise. 44 democrats voted against. I don't know who they were, yet. I HOPE to find out, and thank them for trying.

So, how are we going to fight back? Petitions will help, for now. But your VOTE is going to make a big difference. But I want to say NOW, AND FOR THE RECORD: I WARNED YOU ABOUT taxes going up if the DFL grabbed power.

SOME DFLers exercised common sense, or at least were afraid of losing their position in Congress if they voted "YES".

The global warming HOAX?

"Global warming" is a new age buzz-word. Everyone is talking about it: how hot it's getting, the shrinking of the glaciers, the pending flood. The Polar bears are becoming cannibals, species going extinct because of global warming.

I live in MN, just 60 miles north of Minneapolis. We've had some mild winters since 1982, I'll grant you. We had a high in the 40s in January 1982. We've had (Generally) highs in the 20s (A couple of degrees above average) over the last few years. It's a huge mess...we have "Global warming" and we're going to be a desert in a few years, right?

This morning, I awaken to the coldest temps I've seen in 12 years. Colder, actually. The current temp is -27, with a windchill factor of -42. That's NO JOKE. That's -27 degrees BELOW ZERO FARENHEIT, with a windchill factor of -42. Exposed flesh will freeze in less than a minute. We've about 14 inches of snow on the ground, except where it drifted and it's more like 3 feet.

Last time I felt temps THIS cold was in the 1960s, about 1968 or so. This frigid arctic blast is spreading across the country and makes me ask:
"You talk about 'Global Warming', huh? Where IS it?"

Send those freaking idiots up here. No coats, buddy...bring your shorts! Bring your swimming trunks! Don't forget your boats and plenty of tanning lotion! Beaches are nice this time of year!

Global warming? BULL! Send Al Gore up to MN. Send these global warming doomsayers to MN. Let 'em run around half-naked, see how they like their "GLOBAL WARMING" at this time of year!
