It's all about TRUTH.

IT'S ALL ABOUT TRUTH
Location is determined by position
Evidence will vary by location.
Facts will change according to evidence.
But TRUTH is unchanging.

Slippery slopes abound.

On FB, I am involved in several DNA related groups.

They have been a big help.  And yet, some of their opinions go against my grain, even though I can see what they're saying.

Case in point:  Child molesters.  Scarring them for life.  It's a tough question:  How do we deal with the perps?

Alabama is taking a frightening lead:  Chemical Castration.  But it appears to apply only to men.
How does one deal with the female?  FGM?  Sew her up?  Rip out her womb and ovaries?  Very dangerous thoughts.

My argument was as follows.

Now, let me inject a comment, here...
I was molested as a child... So I understand the furor.
But unless there is actually physical evidence, going such a route is dangerous. When and where does it end? What about those who have been wrongly convicted? Or those where the only evidence is one word against another? And there have been instances of false memories planted by hypnotherapists.

One word against another... how does one determine the truth? Polygraph? They CAN be fooled. security cameras? Say hello to big brother!

Castration is permanent. People are emotional and make mistakes.

While there are considerations, This is a slippery slope. One could argue that women cannot molest. So, how would we treat a female offender?
There needs to be a way... but castration (Chemical or otherwise) isn't the answer. I'm not sure that there IS an answer. Caution is warranted, lest we descend into the pit and remain there...

DO WE BELIEVE HEARSAY?  Where is the physical evidence?  It's worrisome that we consider such a solution.
Why not just extend it to all murders, robbers, All Lawbreakers?

Food for thought... or the way to extinction --  AS I SEE IT!

Equal Justice under the law?

Unfortunately,, "Equal justice for all" is an ideal. It is seldom, if ever, managed in reality. A well-off defendant will purchase the services of the finest lawyers. If the accused is poor or not from a highly placed family, you can expect prison.

Cases in point: OJ Simpson, Casey Anthony, a couple of "no-names" from out west, one in England,, Trayvon Martin and the recent Ferguson battle. And you can add the Jon-Benet Ramsey case, too!

OJ had a fine legal team. Maybe I was entranced, too; I believed in his innocence. Perhaps his celebrity status coated him in "Teflon". You know the result. OJ is in prison, now, for armed robbery.

Casey Anthony: Did she, or didn't she? Evidence points one way, but enough doubt was cast to the jurors -- the "reasonable doubt" clause -- to warrant an acquittal.. Did she or didn't she? My own personal opinion matters not.

In England, a writer was convicted of being a sexual predator; a pedophile. He got off with a slap on the wrist. What's the news? He's been arrested again, on a recent charge of molestation. Justice? HARDLY!

The "No-name cases" -- a homeless woman left her child in her car while she had an interview for a job. Arrested, lost her child. Another woman, "high" on drugs, left her baby on top of the car drove recklessly until child fell off. Result? Slap on wrist, probation. Kept her child. Differences? First case, homeless black. Second? White.

Maybe a solution is professional jurors.

Our system, though, isn't perfect. We all have our biases. And until we can put them aside, we lose: Justice is unequally distributed.

The Wheels of Justice

It has been said that "The wheels of Justice turn slowly." Any who has been wrongly convicted can tell you that.

I find that JUSTICE is God's, not man's! And so far, It's not failed me...although sometimes it seems to be awfully slow.

ANY TIME -- that I have been mistreated -- Justice (or is that judgement?) has come...sometimes swiftly, sometimes slowly. Although I'm still waiting on some, it hasn't been 2 years yet.

I used to work at Zayre. One day I was accused of being a crook. It took time, but I convinced them that I wasn't guilty of the crime of which they accused me. The pertpetrator got Jail, in less than a year the security guy was on the street (unemployed), and the company was out of business.

I then went to a place which was a grocery store. One day they pushed me too far. Three years later, the place was out of business, bankrupt. I don't know what happened to Cindy--the fool--but I was working elsewhere, and she was unemployed!

I used to work for the daily paper in Mpls, as a telemarketer. They kicked me out, but within 3 years, the Evening paper (for which I worked) folded, merging with the morning paper.

I went to Musicland. Remember them? One guy kept pushing, and pushing, and pushing...I finally had enough. I was cleared of any wrong, and the other guy...after the warehouse closed and moved (They've since gone out of business, I think)... the guy wound up in Jail for sexual assault. The other guys, many of them, on unemployment.

I went to work for a local florist. Nice spot, for a while. Then they started lying about me, pushing, causing trouble. I couldn't take it. Since then, the CEO of that company went to China for the Olympics. But there was an attack, I understand, against him. He came home in a coffin. The company has been battered by the economy. Will they survive?

The Humane Society, local police, courts, the state -- have all been out to get me. I await the justice that will be coming. The H.S. has tried to steal my horses. The police hassled me over horses, and driving which was completely legal..The courts have tried to assist the cops, and neighbors have been ogres. The state tried to steal my Driver's license from me. None of this goes unnoticed by the Ultimate judge, the one who will truly dispense justice.

I can't wait to see what the justice will be...what is the ultimate "payback"? Job received better than he had. Elijah was taken to heaven on the wheels of a flaming chariot. Judas Iscariot committed suicide, getting his "due".

The wheels of justice keep turning, slowly. But they never grind to a halt.
